Abstract:
In an elevator apparatus, up-and-down moving of a car is attained by multiple
hoisting machines. Each of the hoisting machines is equipped with a brake unit.
The brake units are individually controlled by respective brake control means.
Each of the brake control means at emergency braking detects the state of rotation
of corresponding hoisting machine and controls the braking force of corresponding
brake unit in accordance with the state of rotation detected.
