Abstract:
An indoor unit for an air conditioner, where condensation on a motor and mechanism
components caused by a leakage of conditioning air from an airflow route to a drive
unit of airflow direction change means is prevented. The drive unit (6) of a horizontal
airflow direction plate (5) as the airflow direction change means is placed outside
an airflow path (7). The drive unit (6) has a motor (11), a link mechanism (12),
a case (13), and a rotating output shaft (14). The link mechanism (12) transmits
the output of the motor (11). The case (13) covers the motor (11) and the link mechanism
(12). The rotating output shaft (14) outputs the output of the motor (11), transmitted
via the link mechanism (12), to the outside of the case (13). A first through-hole
(15) is formed in an airflow path forming section (2a) of a bottom case (2). The
first through-hole (15) allows the rotating output shaft (14) to reach inside
the airflow path (7). A shutoff structure having a first fitting section (21)
is formed around the first through-hole (15). The shutoff structure shuts off
the communication between the inside of the drive unit (6) and the airflow path
(7).
