Abstract:
Provided is an elevator modification method for modifying an elevator having a configuration in which an elevator car is not suspended by a rope into an elevator having a dual brake structure, said method comprising: a first brake installation step in which a first braking mechanism is installed if the elevator prior to modification does not have a first braking mechanism which grips the guide rail of the elevator car; and a second brake installation step in which a second braking mechanism is installed, the second braking mechanism maintaining the stopped state of the elevator car by a first braking mechanism by gripping the interlocking rope for an encoder.
