Abstract:
This elevator monitoring device is provided with: a display device (display screen unit) for displaying textual information corresponding to an elevator operation state signal; a distance detection device for detecting the distance between an inspector who is in front of the display screen unit and the display screen unit; and a display control device for making it possible to alter the size of a display area of the display screen unit and instructing the display device to display the textual information in accordance with a display layout that has been designated in the display area. In addition, the display control device: on the basis of the distance detected by the distance detection device, alters the size of textual information displayed in a first display area on the display screen unit, such size being altered together with the size of the first display area; displays the textual information on a second display area obtained by altering the size of the first display area; and if the second display area is smaller than the first display area, makes it furthermore possible to display the textual information in a display area obtained by excluding the second display area from the first display area, thereby facilitating recognition and comprehension for the inspector.
