Abstract:
Provided is a W/O/W emulsion composition containing a high content of silicone oil and having a high viscosity and high stability. The W/O/W emulsion composition comprises: an inner water phase; an oil phase in which the inner water phase is dispersed; and an outer water phase in which the oil phase is dispersed. The W/O/W emulsion composition is characterized in that: the inner water phase includes an osmotic pressure-adjusting agent which prepares the inner water phase to have a higher osmotic pressure than the outer water phase; the oil phase includes a silicone oil in an amount of 0.5 times the mass of the total oil phase and a silicone-based surfactant having a silicone skeleton as a main skeleton and having a hydrophilic group in a side chain; and the outer water phase includes a polyol and an alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymer.
