Abstract:
In the disclosed endoscope system, normally, a main CPU (41) controls the system as a whole while a dedicated computation CPU (42) controls the modulation of examination light supplied to a scope (10). If the dedicated computation CPU (42) malfunctions, the main CPU (41) controls the aforementioned light modulation in a simplified manner while continuing to control the system as a whole. Said simplified light-modulation control consists of, for example, controlling just aperture blades without controlling lamp current.
