Abstract:
This energy measurement device includes: a target (12) that is irradiated with charged particles and emits neutrons; an output circuit (15) such as a DC/DC converter that includes a semiconductor element and outputs voltage during normal operation; and a counter (22) for measuring elapsed time starting from a point in time at which neutrons are emitted from the target (12). The energy measurement device additionally comprises a measurement unit (21) for measuring the voltage output by the output circuit (15) and a calculation unit (24) that uses a time at which the voltage measurement value measured by the measurement unit (21) fell below a preset threshold value and the elapsed time measured by the counter (22) as a basis to calculate the flight time of the neutrons, then uses the calculated flight time as a basis to calculate the energy of the neutrons.
