The present invention relates to a handrail sterilization device using atmospheric pressure plasma, the handrail sterilization device for sterilizing a handrail by means of atmospheric pressure plasma. The handrail sterilization device of the present invention has: a sterilization housing mounted by surrounding a handrail so as to form a sterilization space for the handrail below a rail guide part; a plasma generation part provided to treat with plasma the surface of the handrail rotating by being guided by the rail guide part inside the sterilization housing, and effectively sterilize the surface of the handrail by means of an oxygen active species generated in a plasma generation process; a suction fan provided to suction, by means of a gas suction part, by-products produced from the plasma generation part; an air purifying filter provided to remove the by-products in a gas state which have been suctioned by the suction fan; an air quality sensor provided to detect by-products in the air discharged from the air purifying filter; and a sterilization control part for controlling the operation of the plasma generation part and suction fan. Therefore, the present invention has the advantages of sterilizing the handrail with atmospheric pressure plasma without using a separate disinfectant, and not producing residues on the surface of the handrail after the sterilization.
