Abstract:
This ESD protection device has an element body. The element body has a hollow portion. In a cross section containing the Z direction, the internal surfaces of the hollow portion comprise a first internal surface, a second internal surface, and a third internal surface, which are inclined with respect to the Z direction. Therefore, the surface areas of the internal surfaces of the hollow portion are increased, thereby decreasing the heat load exerted on the discharge assisting electrode and suppressing deterioration of the discharge assisting electrode.
