Abstract:
The compound of the present invention, which provides a lubricant having superior energy conservation properties, heat resistance, and low-temperature fluidity, and a use of the lubricant, is represented by general formula (1), and has a 40°C kinematic viscosity (v) satisfying 4 mm2/s ≤ v ≤ 30 mm2/s: CnH2n+1-(O-CH2CH2)p-O-(CH2)3-(C=O) -O-CmH2m+1 …(1) (where in general formula (1): O, C, and H respectively are an oxygen atom, a carbon atom, and a hydrogen atom; m, n, and p respectively are an integer from 1 to 18, an integer from 1 to 12, and an integer from 1 to 3; and 2 ≤ n+m ≤ 30 is satisfied).
