Abstract:
Ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer particles which are characterized by containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer that has an ethylene unit fraction of 1% by mole or more but less than 20% by mole, a viscosity-average degree of polymerization of 200 to 5,000 and a saponification degree of 80% by mole to 99.99% by mole, and which are also characterized in that the crystallinity in water at 30°C (Cw(30°C)) and the crystallinity in water at 70°C (Cw(70°C)) as determined by pulsed NMR satisfy formula (I). Consequently, the present invention provides ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer particles which have excellent solubility in water and excellent gas barrier properties.
