Abstract:
Provided is a wall-flow-type exhaust gas purification catalyst which is reduced in pressure loss caused as the result of the accumulation of PMs. The exhaust gas purification catalyst (1) is provided with a catalyst-applied filter (2). The catalyst-applied filter (2) includes a filter base material (21) and a catalyst layer (22) provided on a pore wall in the filter base material (21). The exhaust gas purification catalyst (1) has a first end, a second end, a porous partitioning wall (W), a first cell, and a second cell. The first cell is closed at the second end, the second cell is closed at the first end, and the first cell and the second cell are arranged adjacent to each other with the porous partitioning wall (W) interposed therebetween. In the porous partitioning wall (W), the ratio of the total area SS of pores each having an opening diameter of less than 40 μm to the total area S of all of the pores, i.e., SS/S, on the first-cell-sided surface is 65% or more.
