Abstract:
Provided is a wall-flow-type exhaust gas purification catalyst which has excellent PM trapping performance and has a small initial pressure loss. The exhaust gas purification catalyst (1) is provided with a catalyst-applied filter (2) and powdery inorganic particles (3). The catalyst-applied filter (2) includes a filter base material (21) and a catalyst layer (22) provided on a pore wall in the filter base material (21). The catalyst-applied filter (2) has a first end part, a second end part, a filter partitioning wall (21W), an inlet-side cell, and an outlet-side cell. The filter partitioning wall (21W) is porous. The inlet-side cell is opened at the first end part, and is closed at the second end part. The outlet-side cell is opened at the second end part, and is closed at the first end part. The inlet-side cell and the outlet-side cell are arranged adjacent to each other with the filter partitioning wall (21W) interposed therebetween. The powdery inorganic particles (3) are unevenly distributed on a surface adjacent to the inlet-side cell in the filter partitioning wall (21W) on a cross section parallel to the thickness direction of the filter partitioning wall.
