Abstract:
An exhaust gas purification device which enables making the catalyst structure lighter and which enables suppressing the occurrence of cracks even when the catalyst structure has a prismatic shape, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The exhaust gas purification device includes a catalyst structure 2 which can circulate exhaust gas, a metal catalyst 3 which is supported on the catalyst structure 2 and which can react with and purify an exhaust gas that is flowing through the catalyst structure 2,and a housing case 4 which houses the catalyst structure 2 and which can be attached to the exhaust gas flow path through which the exhaust gas flows, wherein the catalyst structure 2 comprises a laminate body E obtained by laminating multiple paper sheets folded into a corrugated shape is formed into a prismatic shape that follows the shape of the inner peripheral surface of the housing case 4, and, of the side surfaces of the prismatic shape, a notch A is formed at least in a laminate-direction side surface α, which is positioned in the direction of lamination G of the paper sheets E1, E2.
