Abstract:
An external device is radio-connected to a camera including: a synchronization data
generation unit for outputting synchronization data used for synchronizing a
process timing associated with imaging; a packet generation unit for generating a
communication packet containing control information; and a packet output unit
for outputting the communication packet outside by radio communication. When
the synchronization data generation unit outputs synchronization data, the
packet generation unit generates a communication packet containing the synchronization
data. The packet generation unit includes: a packet reception unit for receiving
a communication packet; a detection unit for detecting synchronization data
before the packet reception unit reads all the communication packets received; and
a signal output unit for outputting a synchronization signal used for synchronizing the
process timing associated with imaging according to the detection of the synchronization
data by the detection unit.
