Abstract:
An eyeball detection device equipped with: an imaging device for acquiring a facial image containing left and right eyeball images of a subject; a first distance calculation unit for calculating a first distance between the subject and the imaging device; and an eyeball search unit which carries out a search with respect to the left and right eyeball images from the facial image and, when one eyeball image, that is the left or right eyeball image of the subject, has been detected by the search operation, carries out a search with respect to the other eyeball image of the subject from the facial image, on the basis of the search result for the one eyeball image from an eyeball detection unit, the first distance, and a second distance between the left and right eyeballs of the subject.
