This fall sensing device comprises: a plurality of fall sensing parts for sensing falls of a plurality of respectively different types with regard to a subject; and a reporting part for, for each of the plurality of fall sensing parts, when a fall of a given type has been sensed with the corresponding fall sensing part, externally reporting the fall of the given type. This fall sensing method comprises: a plurality of fall sensing steps of sensing falls of a plurality of respectively different types with regard to a subject; and a reporting step of, for each of the plurality of fall sensing steps, when a fall of a given type has been sensed with the corresponding fall sensing step, externally reporting the fall of the given type. This monitor subject monitoring assistance system assists with monitoring the subject, using the fall sensing device.
