Abstract:
[Problem] To completely isolate a control system for factories or public infrastructure such as power plants, aircrafts, trains, signals, or ATMs from another system in order to ensure security. In isolated systems, maintenance such as software updating is carried out via portable media (such as USB connection type storage). Thus, portable media are infected with malware for the purpose of infecting a target system with the malware. An attack via a portable medium can be prevented by carrying out strict management so as to prevent the portable medium from being infected with the malware. However, the security awareness of workers tends to be a human-caused vulnerability. [Solution] Provided is a system for detecting infection with malware by using a blockchain to manage the change history of software that is installed on a server or a terminal such as a PC.
