Abstract:
Between computers constituting a fault tolerant system, a backup function and backup data for restoring the external storage device of one computer are held in the computer. In case a malfunction occurs in the external storage device to be mounted on one computer, the backup data can be automatically fetched at the first starting time of the computer after the external storage device was repaired, thereby to restore the contents of that external storage device.
