Disclosed are fermentation equipment used for organic matter and a method therefor. The equipment comprises a feed-in device (1), a first reaction device (2), an extrusion device (3), a high solid content feed-out device (4), a low solid content feed-out device (5), a first circulating pump (6), a second reaction device (7), a first reflux device (8), a first feed-out device (9), and a collection device (10) thereof, wherein the extrusion device (3) is arranged in the first reaction device (2), the first circulating pump (6) is provided between the low solid content feed-out device (5) and the second reaction device (7), the first reflux device (8) is provided between the first reaction device (2) and the second reaction device (7), and the first feed-out device (9) is provided in the second reaction device (7). The equipment and the method therefor, by means of the second reaction device (7) retaining fermented microorganisms and a circulating flow of matter between the second reaction device and the first reaction device (2), such that organic matter is acidified extremely thoroughly in a short period time, and compared with conventional anaerobic fermentation techniques, organic matter is more fully broken down, and the biogas production rate is higher.
