Abstract:
[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a fire pump vehicle that has a wide range of firefighting activity, the fire pump vehicle making it possible to respond to fires that range in scope from a normal fire to a disaster or major fire, as well as to the condition of the water source, such as the height to the water surface or the distance to a water source from which the required amount of water suitable for the scope of the fire and used in fighting the fire can be obtained. [Solution] A fire pump vehicle having a submerged pump and being capable of supplying water over great distances, in which: a traditional fire pump, a water-supplying hydraulic submerged pump placed underwater, and a hydraulic pump for feeding and driving pressurized oil to the hydraulic submerged pump are mounted on the fire pump vehicle; either the traditional fire pump or the hydraulic pump is selected and switched in response to the scope of a fire and the condition of a water source, such as the height to the water surface or the distance to the water source from which the amount of water required for fighting the fire can be obtained; the traditional fire pump or the hydraulic pump is connected to the full-power PTO of a vehicle propulsion engine and is driven; a separate small hydraulic pump is further connected to the side PTO of the vehicle propulsion engine and made to drive the hydraulic submerged pump; and water supplied from the hydraulic submerged pump is pressurized by the drive of the traditional fire pump.
