Abstract:

A device (30) effects the mitral valve annulus geometry of a heart. The device comprises a first anchor (32) and a proximal second anchor (36), both anchors configured to be positioned within the coronary sinus adjacent the mitral valve annulus. The second anchor, when deployed, anchors against distal movement and is moveable proximally. The device further comprises a fixed length connecting member (34) permanently attached to the first and second anchors. When the both anchors are within the coronary sinus and the first anchor is anchored, the second anchor may be displaced proximally, effecting the mitral valve geometry, and then released, maintaining the new geometry.
