Abstract:
The present invention develops a fluorescent staining method which is compatible with PAS staining that is a specialized staining technique for staining a substance containing a glycol group, such as a structure containing a polysaccharide in a large amount (e.g., a mucosal fluid, a basement membrane) and which enables clear three-dimensional observation. The present invention provides a method for fluorescently staining a substance containing a glycol group in a tissue or a cell sample, the method including bringing the tissue or the cell sample into contact with a compound represented by general formula (I) or a salt thereof.
