Abstract:
The present invention provides: a fluorine-containing ether compound and a coating solution that are capable of forming a surface layer that has excellent water and oil repellency, friction resistance, fingerprint stain removal properties, and lubricity; and an article having a surface layer that has excellent water and oil repellency, friction resistance, fingerprint stain removal properties, and lubricity. Provided is a fluorine-containing ether compound represented by [Rf-G-]aZ[-(O-R2)c-SiR3 nL3-n]b, wherein Rf: a linear chain group with a carbon number of 2 or more having at least one ethereal oxygen atom between carbon atom-carbon atom in a polyfluoroalkyl group; G: -R1-O-, -R1-CONH-, -CONH-, or a single bond; R1: an alkylene group; Z: a hydrocarbon group, etc., having a valence of (a+b); R2: an alkylene group; R3: a hydrocarbon group, etc., having a valence of 1; L: a hydrolysable group; n: 0 to 2; a: an integer of 1 or greater; b: an integer of 1 or greater; (a+b): at least 3, and b is 4 or greater when a is 1, or b is 1 or greater when a is 2 or greater; and c: 0 or 1.
