Abstract:

Provided is a coating composition that can form a highly stain-resistant coating film using a fluorine-containing polymer that comprises repeat units derived from (a) a fluorine-containing monomer, (b) a fluorine-free noncrosslinking monomer, and (c) a fluorine-free crosslinking monomer. The fluorine-containing monomer (a) is a compound represented by general formula (a-I): CH2=C(-X)-C(=O)-Y-Z-Rf [In the formula, X is a hydrogen atom, a monovalent organic group, or a halogen atom; Y is -O- or -NH-; Z is a direct bond or a divalent organic group; and Rf is a C1-20 fluoroalkyl group.]. The fluorine-free noncrosslinking monomer (b) comprises (b1) a cyclic hydrocarbon group-containing monomer and (b2) a low-Tg monomer whose homopolymer has a glass transition point (Tg) of less than 0°C.
