In order to reduce costs associated with foam molding, this foam molding method involves molding a foamed molded article (M) by injecting a molten resin (R) which includes therein uniformly dispersed bubbles (B) into a cavity (17) formed by a metal mold (16), and the method comprises: a process for, in a state where a shut-off nozzle (53) for opening/closing a nozzle portion (52) which is provided to a heating barrel (50) and which is for injecting the molten resin R is opened, causing a screw (60) to move backward and taking air (A) into the heating barrel (50) through the nozzle portion (52); a process for closing the shut-off nozzle (53), causing the screw (60) to move forward, and diffusing the air (A) taken into the heating barrel (50) throughout the molten resin (R) in the heating barrel (50); a process for, in a state where the shut-off nozzle (53) is closed, causing the screw (60) to move backward while rotating, and thereby feeding the molten resin (R) to the front side while dispersing the air (A), as bubbles (B), in the molten resin R; and a process for opening the shut-off nozzle (53) and injecting the molten resin (R) including the dispersed bubbles (B) into the cavity (17).
