Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to detect the presence/absence of a foil film on the upstream side of a transfer position without rotating a feed reel. This foil transfer device is for transferring, in a condition in which a sheet has been placed on top of a foil film F including a foil, the foil onto an image on the sheet, said foil transfer device comprising: a heating member (heating roller 61) having a heater and heating the foil film F and the sheet; a pressure member (pressure roller 51) for sandwiching the foil film F and the sheet with the heating member; a feed reel 31 on which the foil film F is wound; a take-up reel 35 for taking up the foil film F fed from the feed reel 31; a motor M for driving the take-up reel 35; and a film sensor 110 capable of detecting the foil film F wound on the feed reel 31, or the foil film F placed between the heating member and the feed reel 31, without driving the motor M.
