Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fuel cell that uses formate as a fuel, said fuel cell comprising: an anode electrode which is composed of a diffusion layer and a catalyst layer; a cathode electrode which is composed of a diffusion layer and a catalyst layer; an electrolyte membrane which is positioned between the anode electrode and the cathode electrode; an anode-side collector; and a cathode-side collector, wherein the electrolyte membrane is a cation exchange membrane, and the catalyst layer of the cathode electrode contains a catalyst and, as a binder, a cation exchange resin.
