Abstract:
A functional food and drink having been enhanced with respect to the functions such as antibacterial, antioxidant, antiallergic, and antitumor properties and protection against hepatic function disorder. There is provided a food or drink containing red propolis as a raw ingredient, characterized in that the original plant of the red propolis is at least one member selected from among Stryphnodendron adstringens, Schinus molle, Rhizophora mangle and Manikara elata, and that the food or drink has at least one functional activity selected from among antibacterial, antioxidant, antiallergic, and antitumor properties and protection against hepatic function disorder. Accordingly, over those of the conventional propolis, the antibacterial, antioxidant, antiallergic, and antitumor properties and protection against hepatic function disorder have been enhanced.
