Abstract:
A functional polymer which comprises a combination of a ligand for substance trapping which has an affinity for the target substance with a temperature-responsive ingredient in which a reversible change in state occurs with changing temperature (temperature-responsive polymer). The functional polymer in a solution state traps the target substance. Thereafter, the target substance trapped can be easily recovered as a precipitate by changing the temperature. Also provided is a kit comprising the polymer and a necessary solution. With the kit, a target substance can be more easily trapped and recovered in a short time. When the functional polymer or the reagent kit for substance trapping, which includes the functional polymer, is used, operations for obtaining a living-body component, such as extraction, separation, and purification, can be easily conducted.
