Abstract:
The present invention provides a gas barrier coating film which is mainly composed of a polyethylene film and is generally configured from a single type of resin with a low environmental impact, and which has necessary properties required for packaging materials, such as gas barrier properties, adhesiveness and processability. The gas barrier coating film is a multilayer film which is obtained by providing a coating layer that comprises a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer and an inorganic layered compound on at least one surface of a base material film; and the multilayer film satisfies the requirements described below. (a): The base material film is a biaxially stretched film that contains a polyethylene resin.
(b): With respect to the total reflection infrared absorption spectrum of the multilayer film, the ratio (P1/P2) of the peak intensity (P1) having a maximum absorption in the region of 1040 ± 10 cm-1 to the peak intensity (P2) having a maximum absorption in the region of 3300 ± 10 cm-1 is within the range of 3.0 to 25.0.
(c): The arithmetic mean roughness in a 2 μm square area of the surface of the coating layer is 2.0 nm to 8.0 nm.
