Abstract:
A gas generator is provided with: a long cylindrical housing body; and a plug (30A) for closing the end of the housing body in the axial direction. The plug (30A) has: a substantially columnar body section (31) comprising a substantially discoid metal member; a first flange section (33) positioned at a first end surface (30a) side; and a second flange section (34) positioned at a second end surface (30b) side. An annular groove section (32), which is defined by the body section (31), the first flange section (33), and the second flange section (34), is positioned on the circumferential surface (30c) of the plug (30A). The grain flow (MF) of the portion appearing on the surface layer of the circumferential surface (30c) of the plug (30), including the surface of the annular groove section (32), extends continuously along the circumferential surface (30c) from the first end face (30a) so as to reach to the second end face (30b) without being segmented on the circumferential surface (30c).
