Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a gas shield arc welding method, a welding joint, and a method for producing the welding joint. The present invention pertains to a gas shield arc welding method for joining steel materials by narrow-groove multi-layer welding, wherein: the groove of the steel materials is set to a groove angle θ of not more than 20°; the root gap G (mm) is set to 7-15 mm at a lower portion of the groove; and, when initial layer welding is to be performed, a backing material made of ceramic is used, the welding current I (A) is set to 250-400 A and the welding voltage V (V) is set to 25-45 V, and a single pass is conducted by performing control so that the value [Q/G] obtained by dividing, by the root gap G (mm), a welding heat input Q (kj/mm) calculated by a prescribed expression falls within a range of 0.32-0.70.
