Abstract:
The present invention relates to a Gaussian pulse and Stretched Front Leg (SFOL) dual-mode pulse Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) ground transponder and a control method thereof and, in particular, to a Gaussian pulse and SFOL dual mode DME ground transponder and a control method thereof wherein, when a request signal is received from aircraft DME avionics, the type of the request signal is detected and a Gaussian pulse, if the signal type is a Gaussian pulse, or an SFOL signal, if the signal type is an SFOL pulse, is generated and transmitted to the aircraft DME avionics.
