Abstract:
This gear pump, which pressurizes and discharges a fluid, comprises: a casing provided with a suction port for suctioning the fluid and a discharge port for discharging the fluid; a gear that is provided with a wheel part fringed with gear teeth and a shaft part axially extending from the wheel part and that is accommodated in the housing such that the gear teeth transports the fluid from the suction port to the discharge port through the rotation around a shaft; and a floating bearing, which rotatably supports the shaft part and is movable in the axial direction thereof, and which includes a seal surface making contact with the wheel part, a pressure-receiving surface that axially faces the seal surface and includes a first pressure-receiving surface that defines, in combination with the casing, a first pressurized chamber communicating with the suction port, and a second pressure-receiving surface that defines, in combination with the casing, a second pressurized chamber communicating with the discharge port, a third pressure-receiving surface that defines, in combination with the casing, a third pressurized chamber, and a communication passage that has an opening in the seal surface and provides communication between the opening and the third pressurized chamber.
