Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a glass direct roving, which has excellent workability and with which it is possible to effectively increase the mechanical strength of a composite material in the case of a resin-based composite. This glass direct roving production method for producing a glass direct roving 10 by directly winding a bundle of glass filaments comprises: a step in which the surface of a plurality of glass filaments are coated with a bundling agent containing an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent weight of 180-240, and the plurality of glass filaments are bundled; a step in which the bundle obtained by bundling the plurality of glass filaments is wound to produce a wound body; and a step in which the bundling agent is heated and dried at a temperature of 135-155°C, and a film is formed on the surface of the glass filaments.
