Abstract:
A novel substance usable as a proteoglycan initiator; and a method of efficiently synthesizing such a substance usable as a proteoglycan initiator. In particular, a glycopeptide or product of modification thereof, the glycopeptide having the structure represented by the formula: wherein Gly is glycine or a modification product thereof; X is a sugar chain or a modification product thereof; Y is serine or threonine or a modification product thereof; and O is an oxygen atom of the serine or threonine.
