Abstract:
Included is a metal head body 14 that is hollow and open on a face surface side thereof, and a face surface member 12 that is joined to an opening section of a face surface 12a side of the head body 14 and forms the face surface 12a. In a state in which the face surface member 12 is joined integrally to the head body 14, a shaft-like member 20 is provided in the head body 14 so as to face the center of a reverse surface 12b of the face surface member 12. A tip end section 20d of the shaft-like member 20 opposes the center of the reverse surface 12b of the face surface member 12 with a prescribed gap W therebetween. The gap W is an interval at which the reverse surface 12b can collide due to the face member 12 bending when a golf club head 10 strikes a golf ball. The center axis of the shaft-like member 20 is positioned in the perpendicular direction with respect to the reverse surface 12b of the face surface member 12. The shaft-like member 20 is capable of adjusting said position in the center axis direction. Compression-direction force is applied on the shaft-like member 20 due to the collision of the face member 12 when a golf ball is struck.
