The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a graft-modified ethylene/α-olefin copolymer that is suitable as an impact resistance improvement material for an engineering plastic such as a polyamide, and to obtain a polyamide composition with improved impact resistance, especially impact resistance at low temperatures. The present invention relates to a graft-modified ethylene polymer (X) that is obtained by using a polar compound to graft-modify an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (A) satisfying the following requirements (A-i) through (A-iv). (A-i) The included quantity of structural units (a) derived from ethylene is 51-99 mol%, and the included quantity of structural units (b) derived from a C5-20 α-olefin is 1-49 mol% (where the total of the structural units (a) and the structural units (b) is 100 mol%). (A-ii) The density is 0.850-0.875 g/cm3. (A-iii) The melt flow rate (MFR) at 190°C and a load of 2.16 kg is 0.1-25 g/10 min. (A-iv) The total of vinyl-type double bonds, vinylidene-type double bonds, disubstituted olefin-type double bonds, and trisubstituted olefin-type double bonds is 0.16-1.00 per 1000 carbon atoms as calculated by 1H-NMR.
