Abstract:
A high-refractive-index glass characterized by containing SiO2 + Al2O3 + B2O3 in an amount of 0.1-60 mass% as a glass composition, having a (BaO + La2O3 + Nb2O5 + TiO2 + ZrO2)/(SiO2 + Al2O3 + B2O3) ratio of 0.1-50 by mass, a (MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO)/(BaO + La2O3 + Nb2O5 + TiO2 + ZrO2) ratio of 0-10 by mass and a (TiO2 + ZrO2)/(BaO + La2O3 + Nb2O5) ratio of 0.001-40 by mass and having a refractive index (nd) of 1.55-2.3.
