Abstract:

Provided is a printer that, when a transfer film is peeled from an ink ribbon, enables a large peeling angle to be achieved by configuring so that the transport direction at the peeling position on the transfer film advancing route different from the advancing direction. The printer feeds an ink ribbon (41) and a transfer film (46) to the printing position between a platen roller (45) and a thermal head (40) that are pressed against one another and forms an image on the transfer film (46). The transfer film (46) forms is wound along a predetermined traveling path formed between the supply spool (48) and the winding spool (47) of a film cassette (100) that is detachably fitted to a device frame. A film conveying roller (49) and pinch rollers (32a, 32b) are disposed at a position at which the transfer film (46) traveling path is displaced by a predetermined distance towards the cassette interior.
