Provided are a coal briquette having improved hot strength by increasing the softening-melting temperature range, and a manufacturing method therefor. The coal briquette is to be charged in a melter gasifier of a molten iron manufacturing apparatus comprising: i) a melter gasifier in which reduced iron is to be charged; and ii) a reduction furnace for providing the reduced iron to the melter gasifier and receiving a reduction gas from the melter gasifier. A method for manufacturing the coal briquette comprises the steps of: i) mixing three or more types of coal; ii) providing a mixture in which a binder is mixed with the coals; and iii) manufacturing a coal briquette by molding the mixture. In the step of mixing the coals, the overlapping temperature range of the softening-melting temperature range of a first coal and the softening-melting temperature range of a second coal among the three or more types of coal can be 0-10°C.
