Abstract:
A hinge adapted for automatically closing a door which opens in both directions, that is, both inward and outward directions, and having a buffering function. The hinge has a cylinder (2), an operation rod (3) pivotally mounted to one end of the cylinder (2) so as not to be able to move longitudinally, two substantially V-shaped cam grooves (33) arranged so as to face the outer peripheral surface of the operation rod (3) in the cylinder (2), two spheres (55) respectively engaging in the cum grooves (33) so as to face each other, an upper piston (5) engaging with the spheres (55) and longitudinally moving in the cylinder (2) in association with movement of the spheres (55) relative to the substantially V-shaped cam grooves (33), a coiled compression spring (4) placed between the upper piston (5) and the upper end of the cylinder (2) and urging the piston (5) toward the other end side of the cylinder (2), a fluid pressure buffering mechanism for hydraulically buffering movement of the upper piston (5) to the other end.
