Abstract:
The present invention affordably and efficiently processes an end of a metal wire material on the winding start side. This hollow cylindrical filter, which is fabricated by spirally winding a metal wire material 20 in a large number of layers, comprises: an inner cylindrical body 31 which includes a first wire material layer L1 positioned on the innermost circumference thereof, around which two or more layers of a metal wiring material are wound; and an outer cylindrical body 32 which is positioned directly on the outer circumferential side of the inner cylindrical body and around which the metal wire material is wound. After the inner cylindrical body is formed, a start end 20a of the metal wire material is folded back and placed on the outer circumferential side of the inner cylindrical body, and then the outer cylindrical body is formed by winding the metal wire material, thereby folding the start end of the metal wire material between the inner cylindrical body and the outer cylindrical body.
