Abstract:
Provided is a hydrogen production apparatus which enables the production of a large amount of hydrogen on a low electric power. Provided is a hydrogen production apparatus (1) for producing hydrogen by subjecting water and a material of interest comprising an inorganic substance to a mechanochemical reaction. The hydrogen production apparatus (1) is provided with: a grinding processor (2) having a supply port (22) and a discharge port (23) for the material of interest and a cylindrical grinding vessel (21); a holding tank (3) for the material of interest that is processed by the grinding processor; and a circulation line (40) for circulating the material of interest and water between the grinding processor and the holding tank. It is preferred that the ratio (L/D) of the length (L) of a grinding chamber formed in the grinding vessel to the diameter (D) of the grinding chamber when observed in the axis line direction is 1 or less, more preferably 1/3 or less.
