Abstract:
A holographic display device (1) has: a display unit (30) which includes a first image generation unit (10), a second image generation unit (20), and a holographic element (31); a first incidence part (11) which causes light of the first image generation unit (10) to be incident on the display unit (30) at a first angle of incidence; and a second incidence part (21) which causes light of the second image generation unit (20) to be incident on the display unit (30) at a second angle of incidence. The holographic element (31) has characteristics in which the diffraction efficiency with respect to the angle of incidence has peaks at the first angle of incidence and the second angle of incidence so as to display an image on a front (30a) side of the display unit (30) when light is incident at the first angle of incidence, and to display an image on a back (30b) side of the display unit (30) when light is incident at the second angle of incidence.
