Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a honeycomb filter in which the thermal decomposition of a ceramic constituting the partition wall is minimized and which combines an SCR function and a diesel particulate filter function. A honeycomb filter which is provided with a partition wall that forms multiple flow channels and which has first and second end faces, wherein: the multiple flow channels comprise multiple first flow channels which are each sealed at the end on the second-end-face side and multiple second flow channels which are each sealed at the end on the first-end-face side; the honeycomb filter is provided with a catalyst layer which is formed on the surfaces of the partition wall in the first flow channels, on the surfaces of the partition wall in the second flow channels, and/or in pores in the partition wall and which contains both zeolite and one or more metal elements selected from among Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Rh, Pd, Ag and Pt; and the partition wall comprises an aluminum titanate-based ceramic which contains one or more elements selected from among Mg, Ca, Sr, Y, Ba, lanthanoids and Bi.
