This humidification device (200A) is provided with: a reservoir part (216) for storing water; a evaporation part (250) for evaporating water supplied thereto; a water supply channel (230) which is connected to the reservoir part (216) and the evaporation part (250) and which is filled with inflowing water from the reservoir part (216); a gas introduction channel (240) which is connected to a halfway position of the water supply channel (230); a gas introduction source (260) which introduces gas into the water supply channel (230) via the gas introduction channel (240) so as to cause the water filling the water supply channel (230) to be pushed out toward the evaporation part (250) by means of the pressure of the introduced gas; and a control unit which controls the operation of the gas introduction source (260). The control unit drives the gas introduction source (260) intermittently so as to cause the filling of the water supply channel (230) with water and the introduction of gas into the halfway position to be repeated temporally alternately.
