The present invention provides a humidity adjustment method whereby moisture can be adsorbed and desorbed with low power consumption. This humidity adjustment method has: a moisture absorption step for bringing a hygroscopic liquid containing a hygroscopic material into contact with first air, and absorbing the moisture in the first air into the hygroscopic liquid; and a regeneration step for separating the moisture from the hygroscopic liquid that has absorbed the moisture. The regeneration step has: an atomization step for storing the hygroscopic liquid that has absorbed moisture, irradiating at least a portion of the stored hygroscopic liquid with ultrasonic waves, and generating mist-like liquid droplets from the hygroscopic liquid that has absorbed moisture; and a gas-liquid separation step for irradiating the mist-like liquid droplets with sound waves, vibrating and aggregating the mist-like liquid droplets, performing gas-liquid separation on the aggregated mist-like liquid droplets, and collecting and removing the obtained liquid, wherein the frequency of the sound waves fall within a frequency range determined according to the particle diameter of the mist-like liquid droplets.
