Abstract:
Provided is a valve timing control device for an internal combustion engine. A phase change mechanism 3 is provided with: a valve body 27 which includes a tubular peripheral wall, and a supply port 32, a retard angle port 33, and an advance angle port 34 which are formed radially penetrating through the peripheral wall; a spool valve 28 which is slidably arranged on the inside of the peripheral wall, and which opens and closes the ports in accordance with a moved position; and percolation filters 53 to 55 which are wound around the respective ports, and which include a plurality of circular mesh holes 53a to 55a each of which is set to a circumferential length L of not less than 1.07 mm at a hole edge thereof and to a hole diameter D of not less than 0.34 mm. In this way, it becomes possible to suppress the generation of an oil film in each mesh hole, thereby suppressing unwanted unlocking.
